Building safe systems despite unreliable hardware.

Innovators in industry base most of the current innovations on automation and, hence, on computing technology. Such systems must be safe, i.e., execute correct programs correctly. Therefore, safety functions must detect and handle execution and hardware errors.
We provide functional safety in software based on the Software Coded Processing technology or replication depending on your safety requirements. Our vision is to facilitate the use of cost effective unreliable commodity hardware in safety critical systems. To achieve our vision, we extend the limited failure detection capabilities of commodity hardware with the help of software.
The SIListra technologies reliably detect hardware failures in all safety critical parts of an application. The protection works reliably regardless of the source of the failure during the runtime of the application.

Tools

Current approaches to provide hardware safety will not be sufficient in future, because they become too complex and too expensive. SIListra Systems develops cost-effective and safe software-only solutions to these problems. Because our solutions are based on the Software Coded Processing technology and completely implemented in software, they are flexible and universally deployable.

Technology

The SIListra Software Coded Processing technology developed in the Systems Engineering research group of TU-Dresden uses arithmetic codes to recognize erroneous program executions. For detecting errors, processed data is encoded using an arithmetic code. These codes facilitate detection of errors that occur during data storage, transport, and processing.

About us

SIListra Systems, markets and develops software products and services in the field of functional safety. Therefore, we developed the Software Coded Processing technology. Our goal is the industry-wide protection of life and property through the detection of execution errors in "Embedded Systems". We increase safety, but at the same time reduce your costs by facilitating the use of common non-fault-tolerant hardware and providing completely automated solutions.
